TXANS Launches Nonsubscriber Education Effort

The Texas Association of Responsible Nonsubscribers (TXANS) launched an effort to educate Texas employers who opt out of the state's workers' compensation system on how they can protect themselves and their employees. Texas is the only state in the union where workers' compensation is voluntary for the employer. TXANS Executive Director Steve Bent explained the association wants to inform employers who opt out, called nonsubscribers, about the essential elements of a successful nonsubscription program.
