Florida Rate Hearing Concludes

Ratemaking body NCCI announced that the Florida rate appeal hearing that began on February 25, 2002 before Judge Florence Rivas of the Division of Administrative Hearings was concluded on March 1, 2002. NCCI had proposed a rate increase of 8% to take effect January 1, 2002. The Florida Insurance Department denied that request. Consequently NCCI had the burden as petitioner to prove beyond a preponderance of the evidence that its request was not excessive, inadequate, or unfairly discriminatory.
