Judge Thinks Ruling Is Trouble for Ky. Sports Venues

One judge warned in a new ruling by the Kentucky Court of Appeals that all sporting venues may have to pick up the cost of workers' compensation coverage on their vendors' staffs. Senior Judge David Buckingham dissented from a majority opinion in an injury accident at Churchill Downs. The majority told a contract vendor's employee she cannot sue the racetrack because her company is a subcontractor under the workers' compensation law.
