Physical Therapists' Evaluations Considered IMEs

The Oregon Workers Compensation Division (WCD) notified physical therapists that evaluations they carry out may be considered medical examinations (IMEs) which they must be authorized to perform. Physical capacity evaluations and work capacity evaluations are considered independent medical examinations (IMEs) if a workers' compensation insurer requests the evaluation, the division reported.
