Providers Say Exclude Early Visits from Preauthorization

AUSTIN -- Physical and occupational therapists on Tuesday pressed for rules that would require insurers to approve the first two or three treatments, saying the three-day waiting period for preauthorization requests will delay needed care. The therapists spoke during a public hearing called by the Division of Workers' Compensation to hear and comment on proposed emergency rules that will govern medical billing time frames and preauthorization procedures.
