EMC Declares Dividend; Two New Board Members

The Board of Directors of EMC Insurance Group Inc. has declared a quarterly dividend of fifteen (15) cents per share of common stock payable June 10, 2004 to shareholders of record as of June 3, 2004. This is the ninetieth consecutive quarterly dividend paid since EMC Insurance Group Inc. became a publicly held company in February 1982.
