Tenet Gets Sued by Feds for Medicare Fraud

Dow Jones reports that the Department of Justice on Thursday filed suit against Tenet Healthcare Corp. (THC) of Santa Barbara, CA, alleging that the nation's second-largest for-profit hospital chain submitted fraudulent Medicare claims. In a prepared statement, the Department of Justice said it is suing Tenet and its hospitals for billing Medicare on procedures that weren't supported by the patients' medical records in order to receive higher reimbursement.
