Delphi 3Q Net Increases Almost 20%

Delphi Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: DFG) announced yesterday that net income in the third quarter of 2003 was $24.9 million, or $1.16 per share, compared with net income in the third quarter of 2002 of $12.8 million, or $0.60 per share. Net income in the 2003 third quarter included after-tax net realized investment gains of $2.1 million, or $0.09 per share, compared with after-tax realized investment losses of $7.0 million, or $0.33 per share, in the 2002 third quarter.
