Bloomberg Cracks Down on Scaffolding Safety

Following news that deaths and injuries from hanging scaffolds nearly doubled in 2006, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg launched $6 million in safety initiatives. Bloomberg announced the safety changes Wednesday, following a critical report from a city task force warning of a "breakdown in accountability," the Staten Island Advance reported.
