A parent corporation is not responsible for the working conditions at its subsidiary's worksite, the California 4th District Court of Appeal ruled in an injured worker's tort action.
The court affirmed a San Bernardino Superior Court's order dismissing the Sullivan International Group from a tort action. Ruben Garcia sued after his February 2003 injury accident that occured while he operated heavy equipment for Pacific Environment Services.
