Mississippi Police Officer Fired in Work Comp Case

The city council in Vicksburg, Miss., Tuesday fired a veteran police officer, ruling that he failed to provide documentation to prove that he was able to perform the duties of his job. Rudolph Walker, a Vicksburg patrol officer and brother of the Mississippi River town's former mayor, received injuries to his back, knee, hip and wrist after his patrol car was struck from behind on a stretch of federal highway Jan. 4, 2006.
