Chicago Demolition Firm Fined in Ontario Fatality

National Wrecking Co. of Chicago pleaded guilty in an Ontario province court and was fined $250,000 for a fatality at a demolition site. The death occurred on Oct. 15, 2003, while a worker was searching for a tool at a building under demolition in Sault Ste. Marie. A steel door weighing 2,500 pounds fell on the man, crushing him.
