There was evidence presented that a longtime librarian's job at a city branch required her to exercise predominantly mental skills, the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals held in denying a total permanent disability for an arm injury.
The court affirmed a trial court's finding that librarian Nevada Easley had an 80% permanent partial disability as a result of her arm. She injured her arm on Jan. 19, 2004, while emptying a book-return bin at work. Easley experienced persistent pain in her left arm, missed several weeks of work, and underwent physical therapy, according to the court record.
