Jury Acquits Indian River Employee of Fraud

A Pennsylvania jury has acquitted a former Indian River County employee on workers' compensation fraud and other charges, the Vero Beach Press Journal reported yesterday. The Indian River County jury found Ernest Rider, 69, of Falls Creek, Pa, not guilty on charges of workers' compensation fraud, perjury in an official proceeding and third-degree grand theft. The two-day trial concluded on Wednesday. Rider, a former heavy-equipment operator, was injured on March 23, 1987 after falling on a mixer.
