Idaho's injured workers are out of luck if their employers are uninsured, but lawyers for both claimants and insurers want that to change.
The Advisory Committee on Workers' Compensation is working on a proposal to create an uninsured employers fund in the state and hopes to persuade the Legislature to pass a bill in 2007, said committee member John Greenfield, a claimants' attorney in Boise.
He and John W. "Jack" Barrett, a defense attorney active in workers' comp politics, are pushing for creation of the fund.
