California insurance brokers are in another scrap with John Garamendi, this time over a bill the insurance commissioner backs that would require brokers to find out what their clients want in terms of price, quantity
and quality of coverage before recommending policies.
IBA West said in a press release Friday that Garamendi dropped plans to enact such requirements through regulations late last year and is now turning to the Legislature to impose the most stringent standards in the nation on agents and brokers.
