Portland Window Washer Dies in Fall

A window washer fell to his death Wednesday morning in downtown Portland and authorities are investigating whether the death was caused by faulty safety equipment or human error. Eloy Gonzalez Cacho, 31, was rappelling from the roof of the Regence BlueCross BlueShield building when he plunged 50 feet into shrubbery, according to the city fire department. He died at the scene. Cacho worked for a Portland company called We Do Windows.
