Senate Requires CMS to Explain Set-Aside Delays

The U.S. Senate has adopted an amendment tacked onto a federal budget bill that requires the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to explain years of delays in approving workers' compensation settlements. U.S. Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg, D-N.J., announced this week that the disclosure provision was added to the Labor-Health and Human Services Appropriations Bill and passed by the Senate Tuesday night.
