Indiana Benefit Bill in Senate for Final Vote

A bill that would increase workers' compensation benefits in Indiana but increase the burden of proof for injured workers is ready for a final vote in the state Senate. House Bill 1307 by Rep. Gerald R. Torr, R-Carmel, passed the Senate Pension and Labor Committee on Feb. 16 in a party-line 8-3 vote. The bill was up for a second reading Tuesday in the Senate, one step short of a floor vote that could send the measure to Gov. Mitch Daniels' desk.
