Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the champion of California workers' compensation reform, now has a fellow Republican sharing in the administrative oversight of the system.
Californians chose Republican Steve Poizner over Democrat Cruz Bustamante in a 50.6% to 38.9% vote on Tuesday. Poizner will replace John Garamendi, a Democrat who was elected lieutenant governor.
Although California's insurance commissioner has little authority over workers' comp other than ratemaking and regulation of insurer behavior, his election to the post certainly won't give Democrats any better chance of revising...
