Supporters of a referendum to repeal parts of Ohio's new workers' compensation act need to gather 72,962 signatures before Monday in order for the measure to be placed on the November election ballot. But referendum backers, who include labor unions and personal-injury attorneys, are on a tight deadline because the government holiday, Labor Day, falls on Monday.
