The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) bestowed
a Lifetime Achievement Award
to the Hon. Lincoln Alexander for his significant contribution towards
positive race relations in Canada. Prior to serving as Chair of the CRRF since
its founding in 1997, Mr. Alexander was elected to Parliament as Canada's
first Black Member of Parliament, and later became the first Black cabinet
minister. Upon leaving politics, he was appointed Head of the Workers'
Compensation Board, and in 1985 was made the Queen's official representative
