ReEmployAbility's Midyear Report Underscores Proven Return-to-Work Results for Workers' Comp Industry

Wednesday, August 6, 2025 | 215 | 0

Brandon, FL (August 6, 2025) -- As the workers' compensation industry continues to prioritize outcomes that balance claim resolution, cost containment, and employee recovery, ReEmployAbility's 2025 midyear results prove that doing the right thing for people can also deliver measurable results for payers and employers.
With over 7,000 injured workers referred to light-duty, nonprofit-based placements so far this year, the company's Transition2Work®

program continues to lead the industry in scalable, proven return-to-work solutions.

Midyear 2025 Impact at a Glance

  • 1.3+ million volunteer hours contributed year-to-date, building on more than 22 million hours served since program inception.
  • $48 million in community impact created based on the estimated value of volunteer labor ($34.79/hour, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
  • $443 million in cumulative claims cost savings for carriers and employers, thanks to reduced indemnity durations and improved return-to-work timelines.

"The ROI is clear," said Debra Livingston, CEO & Founder of ReEmployAbility. "Transition2Work isn't just about modified duty--it's about getting injured workers reengaged, reducing claim duration, and restoring purpose during recovery. And we've built a national model that delivers consistently."

A Scalable Return-to-Work Strategy with Community Impact

Transition2Work enables carriers, TPAs and employers to offer transitional duty through nonprofit partnerships when on-site accommodation is unavailable. Injured employees perform meaningful, light-duty volunteer assignments that keep them active and accountable while benefiting mission-driven organizations.

In 2025 alone, more than 7,000 workers have engaged in this model and that number is on track to rise. Earlier this year, ReEmployAbility celebrated a major milestone: 100,000 total injured workers served through the program since its inception.
Each referral supports faster reintegration, lower indemnity costs, and a stronger claim outcome. While providing a vital public benefit in communities across the country.

Why It Works

  • Nationwide network of nonprofits, ensuring timely placement
  • Easy referral process integrated into existing claims workflows
  • Human-centered support team guiding both the injured worker and adjuster
  • Documented impact on claim duration and costs

"We bridge the gap between a worker's injury and their return to the job," Livingston said. "And we do it in a way that protects employers, reduces friction for adjusters, and supports the worker's well-being."

The Original and Still the Leader

ReEmployAbility created the nonprofit-based transitional duty model two decades ago. While others have entered the space, the company remains the trusted leader because of its scale, experience, and commitment to excellence.

In addition to program results, ReEmployAbility leads by example:

  • 1% of company revenue donated annually to nonprofit causes

  • Ongoing investments in referral technology and nonprofit expansion

"We're proud to partner with adjusters, case managers, carriers, and employers who see return-to-work as more than just a metric--it's a mission," said Livingston. "Together, we're setting a higher standard for what recovery can look like in this industry."
