The Kentucky Department of Workers’ Claims reported that total disability benefits, death benefits and other payments will increase 6.39% on Jan. 1 to match the increase in the state’s average weekly wage in the latest calendar year.
Temporary disability benefits and permanent total disability benefits are equal to two-thirds of the injured worker’s average weekly wage and capped at 110% of the state’s average weekly wage. The cap for both temporary disability and permanent total disability benefits will increase to $1,074.12 from $1,009.56.
