Comp Laude Winners to Be Announced Nov. 14

WorkCompCentral will announce 2023 Comp Laude winners during a virtual awards ceremony Nov. 14.

Comp Laude celebrates the cooperation of all work comp system users focused on placing the injured worker at the center of the conversation.

Professionals are nominated annually by their peers in recognition of their contributions to the industry. They are nominated for being thought leaders and embodying the Comp Laude mission: to change the narrative of the workers’ compensation industry to a more positive dialogue.

In addition to the award presentation and cameos from past winners, the Nov. 14 program will also feature a brief panel discussion about how the biopsychosocial model improves patient care in work comp.

The biopsychosocial approach considers how biological, psychological and social factors interact and influence health, illness and health care delivery.

Panelists will include Dr. Marcos Iglesias of Travelers; Drs. Tomer Anbar and Clark Smith from the Institutes of Health; Joseph Sousa from the City of San Diego; Bryan Conner with American Airlines; and Dr. Leslie Cadet from ASCEND Occupational Medicine Consulting.

The virtual program is at 1 p.m. Pacific Nov. 14.
