Gov. Brewer Approves Privatization of SCF Arizona

The state-controlled workers' compensation insurer SCF Arizona said Tuesday it is prepared to compete as a private company now that Governor Jan Brewer signed a bill approving the privatization.Senate Bill 1045 repeals and amends the state statute to direct SCF Arizona to become a mutual insurance company, regulated by the state Department of Insurance, by Jan. 1, 2013.
