A New Jersey Senate committee on Thursday passed a bill that would create a presumption that any injury, illness or death is compensable for public safety workers who participated in the response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, under certain conditions.
The Senate Labor Committee voted 5-0 to pass S 2965, by Sen. Joe Lagana, D-Paramus.
Under the bill, those who responded to the World Trade Center attack would be eligible for work comp benefits regardless of when the claim is filed.
