Legislature Passes Injured Worker Hiring Preference Measure

New Jersey lawmakers passed a measure that would require more businesses employing at least 50 people to provide a hiring preference to an injured worker who reached maximum medical improvement but is unable to return to the at-injury position. The General Assembly voted 74-0 on Thursday to pass A2617. The Senate voted 35-2 to pass the measure on June 21, the same day the bill was substituted for the identical S2998.
