A bill that would allow the Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation to conduct benefit review conferences via video meetings on a permanent basis is headed to Gov. Greg Abbott’s desk after the state Senate unanimously approved the legislation Monday.
State senators voted 31-0 to pass House Bill 1752, by Rep. Tom Oliverson, R-Cypress, which supporters say will give the division more flexibility and allow stakeholders to take advantage of cost- and time-saving measures that became popular during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
