The Washington state Department of Labor and Industries said many of its employees will be furloughed Thursday as the result of a plan put together to address the budget shortfall from the COVID-19 pandemic.
L&I said workers will also be furloughed July 10, 17 and 24.
“L&I’s Tumwater and field office locations will be closed to the public on furlough days, and many employees will not respond to phone calls and email on those days,” the agency said in a statement. “L&I is also closed Friday, July 3, to observe Independence Day.”
