The Maine Supreme Court has upheld lower court decisions awarding benefits to a telecommuter who died of a heart attack while working out on a treadmill at his home.
The high court noted that Gregory Sullwold was using the BlackBerry that his employer had provided him when he collapsed, that his death occurred during working hours and that his employer had allowed him to work from home.
The case is titled Estate of Sullwold v. The Salvation Army, WCB-13-541, 01/22/2015.
