Labor Department Seeking Order against Market Basket Stores

The U.S. Labor Department has asked a federal safety review panel to force DeMoulas Super Markets to comply with an order that it provide fall and laceration protection for workers at more than 60 Market Basket stores in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) said on Wednesday that the Labor Department's regional solicitor general has filed a complaint with the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission to compel the Tewksbury, Mass.-based chain to correct safety problems and pay fines of $589,200.DeMoulas is contesting the fines, whi...
