Study: Workers with Arthritis are 30% more likely to Miss Work

Workers with rheumatoid arthritis are 30% more likely to miss work than those without the condition, according to a study from Johnson and Johnson research subsidiary Janssen Scientific Affairs. A study from Janssen researchers published in the June issue of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine found that in a sample of 90,000 employees, 67% of those with rheumatoid arthritis had missed work days. Among those without arthritis, 58% had missed work days. That translates into $600 in costs per employee with rheumatoid arthritis per year, or $252 million nationwide annual...
