A Missouri appellate court revived a worker’s civil suit for her asbestos-related illnesses against her former employer’s successor, finding summary judgment had been issued in error.
Roslyn T. Barnes began working for Business Men's Assurance Co. of America in 1976 and worked there until 1980. While Barnes worked for BMA, there were frequently workers overhead in the ceiling, and asbestos-laden dust fell into the employees' work areas.
Barnes was diagnosed with asbestos-related disease, including mesothelioma, in July 2019.
