Contractor Fined $328,143 for Fall Hazard Violations

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined a Pennsylvania contractor $328,143 for allegedly exposing workers to fall hazards. OSHA said Avila’s Roofing allowed people to work at heights up to 27 feet without fall protection. The agency said the company failed to train workers on fall hazards and allowed others to work without eye and face protection. OSHA said the company had a history of failing to protect workers from potentially deadly falls.
