The Washington state Department of Labor and Industries is proposing changes to its rating and classification rules that govern how employers are required to report and pay workers’ compensation premiums.
The department said in a preproposal statement of inquiry that it intends to correct typographical and other errors, revise wording and formatting and incorporate and formalize existing agency practices such as expressly including in a risk classification employment that it currently includes by interpretation or analogy.
