WCB Proposes Changes to Rehabilitation Specialist Rules

The Alaska Workers’ Compensation Board is proposing changes to its rules governing rehabilitation specialists. The board is proposing a new rule that would require that those added to the list of specialists authorized to evaluate whether injured workers are eligible for reemployment benefits will be placed on “probationary rotation.” The administrator would be authorized to decide whether to permanently add the rehabilitation specialist to the list of authorized providers.
