House Passes Bill Shifting Oversight of Self-Insurance Fund

The Kansas House of Representatives on Wednesday passed a bill that would transfer oversight of the state workers’ compensation self-insurance fund from the Department of Administration to the Insurance Department. The House voted 81-42 to pass HB 2384, by Rep. Bill Sutton, R-Gardner. The State Employee Health Plan within the Department of Administration currently manages workers’ compensation claims filed by state workers.
