For the fourth time in five years, the Florida insurance commissioner has demanded a better deal on workers' compensation rates from its rating organization.
And the National Council on Compensation Insurance has once again complied, expanding its 2021 average rate decrease recommendation from 5.7% to 6.6%.
“It is a little bit of a pattern that our recommendations tend to get slightly cut back in Florida,” said Jeff Eddinger, senior division executive at NCCI, the ratemaking organization for 37 states.
