High Court to Review Ruling That Comp Carrier Must Comply With Good Faith, Fair Dealing

The Louisiana Supreme Court said it will review an appellate court ruling holding that statutory duties of good faith and fair dealing apply to workers' compensation carriers. The high court last week announced it will hear a case involving Lake Charles law firm Cox, Cox, Filo, Camel & Wilson, which sued Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corp. after it failed to promptly hire an attorney to defend against a workers’ comp claim.
