Prescription drug costs are falling in most states, but per-claim payments and payment shares in workers’ compensation systems still differ significantly for comparable treatments, according to a new study from the Workers Compensation Research Institute.
And while payments for opioids continue to fall, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and dermatological agents have topped other treatments as a share of total prescription payments in most states, according to the study.
