The former general counsel and corporate compliance lead of Siemens is joining AIG this month.
Peter Solmssen, 61, becomes executive vice president and general counsel of AIG on Oct. 18. He will oversee compliance and regulatory affairs at his new employer as well, AIG announced.
Solmssen replaced Thomas Russo, 73, who is retiring. Russo held the position he now cedes to Solmssen for six years. Before that, he worked for Lehman Brothers.
Solmssen worked for Siemens for nine years. Before that, he worked for GE Healthcare and GE Advanced Materials.
