Webinar Will Cover COVID 'Long Haulers' Effect on Workers' Comp

Tuesday, June 22, 2021 | 0

Worker safety firm AgSafe on Wednesday will co-host a webinar to discuss the effects that long-term COVID-19 patients could have on the workers’ comp industry.

The 90-minute webinar, “COVID-19 Long Haulers and Return to Work Considerations,” is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Pacific.

Fresno-based claims management company Risico will moderate a panel discussion, which is scheduled to include an occupational medicine specialist from the Mayo Clinic, according to the announcement.

“While many people were able to recover from COVID-19 within a few weeks, there has been an emergence of individuals experiencing lingering effects weeks and months after their positive test,” AgSafe said in its announcement.

Long haul symptoms can include coughing, fatigue, headaches, muscle aches and shortness of breath.

Panelists are expected to discuss how physicians and comp carriers can care for these patients as they eventually return to work.
