Travelers Grows Net Income 19%

Travelers Insurance, the largest workers' compensation carrier in the U.S. by direct written premium, increased its net income 19% and improved its combined ratio 4.3% in the second quarter of 2015. The insurance company reported net income of $812 million during the quarter, up from $683 during the same period last year, in its second quarterly earnings report. The change, according to the document, was largely due to reduced catastrophe losses in 2015 compared to 2014.
