Compensable workplace fatalities in Oregon increased by more than 17% in 2019, according to data published by the state Department of Consumer and Business Services.
The 41 compensable work-related fatalities in 2019 is up from the 35 compensable deaths reported for both 2017 and 2018. It’s the highest death count since 2008, when 46 workers were killed on the job.
