The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation announced that public employer rates decreased by an average of 3.9% at the start of the year.
The bureau said counties, cities, public schools and other public taxing districts will pay about $8 million less in premiums this year as a result of the rate cut. The bureau said the rate cut was prompted by decreasing claim frequency and relatively low medical inflation.
