Restaurant Owner Ordered to Pay $13K Restitution

Tuesday, August 1, 2017 | 0

The owner of an Ohio restaurant and banquet hall will pay $13,000 in restitution after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of workers’ compensation fraud, WFMJ.com reported Monday.

Niles resident Robert Leonard, 68, entered a guilty plea in the Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on Monday, the television station reported.

Leonard was owner of McMenamy’s Restaurant and Banquet Center in Niles. He shut the business down in April. That business still faces a felony charge of workers’ compensation fraud, the television station said, but Leonard entered a not guilty order on its behalf.

Although the Trumbull County court ordered Leonard to pay restitution, he has not yet been sentenced, according to WKBN 27 First News. He faces a jail term of up to 180 days, according to the television station.
