Medical payments per claim decreased 5% in Florida in 2020, which likely reflects factors related to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Workers Compensation Research Institute.
WCRI, in the 23rd edition of its CompScope Medical Benchmarks for Florida, examined medical payments, prices and utilization of various medical services in the state’s comp system for injuries from 2015 to 2020. Because the report includes claim experience through March 2021, WCRI said it provides a look at how the early impact the pandemic may have had on claims.
