Bakery Fined $385,221 for Failing to Abate Year-Old Violations

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined a commercial baker in New Jersey $385,221 for allegedly failing to correct safety hazards cited in a 2023 inspection. OSHA inspected Valenti's Bakery in Paterson in June 2023 after an employee suffered two partial finger amputations. OSHA said its follow-up investigation found that the employer has still not developed or implemented lockout/tagout procedures to ensure machines aren't activated during maintenance.
