California lawmakers will hear testimony next week about legislation that would codify the governor’s COVID-19 presumption when they return from their second break caused by the pandemic.
The Assembly Insurance Committee will hear testimony on SB 1159 during a hearing that starts at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The bill, by Sen. Jerry Hill, D-San Mateo, would add to the Labor Code a rebuttable presumption that COVID-19 is compensable for people who contracted the disease at work between March 19 and July 5.
